Pia Dandiya

Born and raised in Jupiter, Florida, Pia is a proud second-generation American, high school principal, national policymaker, and technology leader. She is also a wife and mother. Pia’s work is driven by a mission to make the American Dream she experienced more accessible to others.

She began her career as a teacher in high-poverty schools and, by age 28, became a high school principal and school founder in Harlem. Eighty-six percent of her students lived below the poverty line, and under her leadership, 100 percent earned admission to college.

She later served as a White House Fellow across two presidential administrations, where she worked on education and economic mobility policy. Pia has also worked at the intersection of technology and education at Apple, focused on how innovation can better serve students and educators.

Pia is the daughter of parents who immigrated from India. She earned her B.A. in Government from Harvard and lives in her hometown with her husband and son – who attends the same school her mother founded 30 years ago.
